Message 1) the forum uses a standard parent-descendant hierarchy, so when you want to respond to a particular post (for instance: "SnowManZ(aka snowie)"), then you should click on his post and respond from the page.

2) learn to take things with a grain of salt and not so personally, or you will never survive here. SnowManZ was a bit harsh, but I've seen far worse from other members. And given the way people have been acting lately (very low tolerance), I'm a little bit surprised that you didn't get any more inflamatory messages than you did.

3) when you make a post, be sure to concisely mention all of the relevant details. your clarification here makes your question seem a little less stupid since you have explained some of the background information.

4) other than a few excptions (mostly just single auctions for verified authentic trusted name-brand parts), modification parts from ebay are generally considered risky at best. collective past experience has shown that many of the modification parts on ebay are useless, many more are cheap (poor quality) replicas or clones of other products. (steering wheels and racing seats in particular often tend to be generic parts with logos slapped on.)

5) research before you buy. this is not just advice for tt.net, but advice in general. if at all possible, you should try to find out EXACTLY what you are purchasing beforehand and know how to properly identify it so that if it isn't what you wanted you can take the proper steps to amend the situation.

6) Use search. Use search. Use search. (Search probably wouldn't have helped you a whole lot with this particular question, but I'm just giving you some general pre-emptive advice for future questions.)

7) Grow a thick skin. I said it before, but it's advice worth repeating. Do your best not to take inflamatory responses very personally. Try to figure out exactly why they are responding so harshly though, and then try to avoid the same mistake(s) the next time you post. Even at that, if you stick around long enough then you'll never be able to post without one or two angry remarks every now and then--after all, people simply have differences in opinion on some things--but you will be able to avoid plenty of pointless drama.
